“Going green” has become more and more of a frequently used term over the last decade, but what does it mean? To become more ‘green’ simply implies a more sustainable and renewable way of life; examples include the boycotting of plastic straws for paper in restaurants or the introduction of (diesel free zones?) in certain big cities. 2021 saw the climate emergency become the most impactful it has ever been, meaning becoming more ‘green’ is imperative for the preservation of the environment.

In a survey conducted by Whitten & Co we found that 64% of people felt that their work wasn’t doing enough for the environment, including simple tasks like ensuring the computers are all off at the end of the day or ensuring the heating and lights are not on when they don’t need to be.

So how can businesses help? Here are Whitten & Co’s top five tips for creating a more eco-conscious workplace.

Use eco-friendly packaging

Change up your commute

Introducing a cycle to work initiative or a car share scheme can help reduce carbon emissions and improve your companies overall environmental impact; even if just one or two employees get involved it’s still a

Whether you make one or all of these changes, there are plenty of easy ways to improve your company’s impact on the environment and ensure a greener future for all workplaces.
